Welcome to Mrs Kennedy's class
Year 1 and 2 is a mixed age key stage 1 class.
The class teacher is Mrs Kennedy and she is supported by Mrs Brown (STA).
We follow the Read, Write Inc programme for our phonics, reading and writing. When the programme is finished, usually by Christmas in year 2, the children move onto a VIPERS led approach to English, using quality texts and grammar activities, with Accelerated Reader to support their reading.
In maths we follow a maths mastery approach using Maths No Problem.
To keep in constant contact with parents we use the Showbie online learning platform. Children’s homework and more practical work is recorded on there for parents to access at home. Parents are also encouraged to share home learning and other achievements with us through Showbie.
